Duarte Nursery, Inc. (DNI) is a family owned and operated nursery located near Modesto in the Central Valley of California. DNI is the largest permanent crops nursery in the United States. The company has a history of aggressively marketing innovative products. In 1998, DNI produced and sold over 12 million grapevines, which planted approximately 15,000 acres of vineyards. Currently, Duarte Nursery sales are over $30 million and expanding.
We have our own vineyards and orchards, which include many experiments, that focus on our grower’s concerns. They include technologies for rapid vine establishment and fruit production, and the evaluation of scion clones and rootstocks over broad ranges of growing conditions.
Our fruit and nut tree program is based on the same strategy for success we have enjoyed with grapevines – quality, friendship and service.
We continuously improve our products through our research, our people, friendships and reinvestment. We have also developed several new products that utilize our facilities off-season. Our other products are poinsettias, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and greenhouse vegetables in winter. Ventures that we are working on include genetically improved plants and an olive tree program.
